a night on the yellow brick road:

One day you’re folding laundry in a messy bun and a stained t-shirt, the next you’re over the rainbow, rubbing shoulders with Lorna Luft, Kris Jenner, and Brian May from Queen. This night reminded me that dreams really do come true.

Lorna Luft with her daughter Vanessa at the World Premiere of Wizard of Oz at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

I had the incredible honor of attending the World Premiere of The Wizard of Oz at The Sphere, and even more humbling, I was blessed to be a guest of Lorna Luft, Judy Garland’s daughter, for the evening.

It was one of those rare experiences where cinema, history, and emotion collided in the most beautiful way. Watching this timeless classic on such a breathtaking scale was already surreal, but seeing it through the eyes of Lorna and her family made it truly unforgettable.

There was something profoundly moving about watching Judy Garland’s great-grandchildren become immersed in the magic of Oz for the first time on that scale. You could feel generations of love, pride, and nostalgia in the room. And when Lorna got choked up during certain scenes, it reminded everyone that The Wizard of Oz is so much more than a movie, its a legacy that continues to touch hearts nearly a century later.

The Sphere itself transformed into a living dreamscape, letting us all walk down the yellow brick road, and for a few hours, become children again. It wasn’t just a premiere, it was a journey back in time, filled with wonder, memories, and gratitude.

I will be eternally grateful to Lorna and her family for welcoming me into such an intimate and meaningful moment. And a huge thank you to V2 Entertainment Group for their flawless execution in creating a seamless evening for us all. Your talent is unmatched.

There really is no place like home, and that night home was Oz.

The Wizard of Oz is running at the Sphere in Las Vegas until April 30th, 2026. Visit the Sphere’s Website or Ticketmaster for day’s and times. Also make sure to check out the Venetian, for room and show packages. It was the perfect hotel for convenience and relaxation.
